How It Works

STEP 1

Upload Your Video

Upload any video file — MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, or WebM — up to 100 MB. The video loads directly in the browser for preview so you can scrub through the timeline and identify the exact section you want to keep. No waiting for a server upload before you can set your trim points.

STEP 2

Set Start & End Times

Enter start and end times as mm:ss or use the range sliders to drag trim handles across the video timeline. The clip duration updates in real time. Use the video player above to scrub to the exact frame, then enter the current time as your start or end point for precise editing.

STEP 3

Download Trimmed Clip

Download the trimmed video clip in MP4 or WebM format. The clip retains the original video quality — no re-encoding artifacts from the trim itself. The filename includes the trimmed time range so you know exactly which segment was saved without having to play it first.

Trim Video Features

Second-Level Accuracy

Set start and end times in mm:ss format for precise control. The range sliders provide visual guidance across the full video timeline, while the numeric inputs let you set an exact second for tight clips like highlight reels, social media snippets, and removing just a few seconds of intro or outro from a recording.

Live Video Preview

The video plays directly in-browser so you can scrub to any point and note the timestamp before setting your trim points. This workflow is faster and more accurate than guessing timestamps. Use the video player's time display to locate the exact second your desired clip starts and ends, then enter those values.

All Major Video Formats

MP4 (H.264, H.265), MOV (Apple), AVI (Windows), MKV (Matroska), and WebM (browser-native) are all supported as input. Output is MP4 for universal compatibility or WebM for web embedding. The trim operation is format-agnostic — the tool handles container re-packaging automatically.

Common Trim Use Cases

Remove silent intro/outro from Zoom recordings, cut a highlight clip from a sports video, extract a specific scene from a longer recording, remove bloopers from the beginning or end of a video, create short social media clips from a longer video, trim a tutorial to just the relevant portion, or isolate a quote from an interview recording.

Duration Preview

The clip duration updates in real time as you adjust the start and end sliders. This immediately shows you how long the resulting clip will be — helping you stay within platform limits for Instagram (60s for Reels), TikTok (60s–10min), Twitter/X (2min 20s), and WhatsApp (16 MB video message limit).

Frequently Asked Questions

The free tier trims to a single continuous clip — you specify one start and one end time, and everything outside that range is removed. To cut a section from the middle, you'd need to trim twice and then merge the two resulting clips using the Merge Videos tool. The Pro tier supports multiple cut points in a single operation, allowing you to remove sections from anywhere in the video in one pass.

No. Trimming is done at keyframe boundaries — the video is not re-encoded. The resulting clip is cut from the original stream with no quality loss. The only caveat is that the actual cut point will snap to the nearest keyframe (typically within 1–2 seconds of the requested time). The Pro frame-accurate mode uses re-encoding at the cut points to achieve exact frame-level precision while preserving quality in the rest of the clip.

After uploading, the video duration is shown and the end slider automatically snaps to the full video length. Use the sliders to visually adjust the range, then confirm with the numeric time inputs. The live duration preview tells you exactly how long the resulting clip will be before you start trimming.

For Instagram Reels (max 90 seconds for most formats), trim your clip to under 90 seconds. For TikTok (max 60 seconds for most accounts), trim to under 60 seconds. For Twitter/X (max 2 minutes 20 seconds), trim accordingly. After trimming, use the Compress Video tool if you need to reduce file size below platform upload limits. Export as MP4 for all social platforms.
