Frequently Asked Questions
Yes — for women's clothing, US sizes are 4 numbers smaller than UK. US 8 ≈ UK 12 ≈ EU 38 ≈ Intl M. For men's sizes are based on chest measurement and US/UK numbers are usually identical.
Italian women's sizes are typically 2 numbers higher than EU (so EU 38 = IT 42). French sizes are about 4 lower than IT (FR 36 = IT 40 = EU 38). The chart shows all three side by side.
International alpha sizes — XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL — used by global brands like Uniqlo, H&M, and Zara to avoid country-specific numbers. They map roughly to EU 34/36, 38, 40/42, 44, 46/48, 50/52 for women.
Mostly yes — men's shirts use neck size in inches in both US and UK (e.g. 15.5", 16"). EU uses centimeters of neck circumference. Casual tops use S/M/L universally.
Because brands use different fit models even within the same nominal size. Always check the brand's own size guide and measure a garment that fits you well. Numerical conversion is a starting point, not a guarantee.
