How It Works
Convert JPG to PNG in three simple steps
Upload Your JPG Files
Drag and drop or click to select one or multiple JPG or JPEG files. Upload up to 20 images with a combined size of 50 MB on the free plan. Both .jpg and .jpeg extensions are accepted.
Choose PNG Settings
Select the PNG compression level (0 for fastest, 9 for smallest file), output size, and colour mode. Advanced options let you add a transparent background and preserve or strip EXIF metadata.
Download PNG Files
Each converted PNG file is named to match the original JPG. Multiple files are packaged into a ZIP archive for a single click download. No watermarks, no account — instant delivery.
Why Convert JPG to PNG?
Lossless quality and transparency — when JPG isn't enough
Lossless PNG Output
Unlike JPG, PNG uses lossless compression — no image data is discarded during conversion. The resulting PNG is bit-for-bit identical to the source pixels, making it suitable for further editing without quality degradation.
Transparency Support
PNG supports an alpha channel (transparency), while JPG does not. When you convert a JPG to PNG, you can optionally add a transparent background — useful for logos, icons, and UI assets that need to appear on different coloured backgrounds.
Batch Conversion
Upload up to 20 JPG images at once and convert them all to PNG in a single operation. All output PNGs are bundled into a ZIP archive and delivered with one click — no need to convert images one by one.
Adjustable Compression
PNG compression is always lossless, but the compression level controls how hard the encoder works to shrink the file. Low compression is faster; maximum compression produces smaller files for the same image quality — pick the balance that suits your use case.
Grayscale Mode
Enable grayscale mode to convert your JPG to a black-and-white PNG. The converter uses luminosity-based grayscale conversion (not simple desaturation) to produce natural-looking monochrome output that preserves perceived brightness accurately.
100% Private & Secure
Your images are uploaded over a TLS 1.3 encrypted connection and processed in isolated server containers. Both the original JPGs and converted PNGs are permanently deleted from our servers within 24 hours. We never view or share your files.

Frequently Asked Questions
The most common reasons are: (1) You need a transparent background — JPG doesn't support transparency, but PNG does. (2) You plan to edit the image further and don't want additional quality loss from re-saving as JPG. (3) The image contains text, logos, or sharp edges that compress better in PNG without the blocky artefacts JPG introduces. (4) A tool or platform requires PNG format specifically.
Converting a JPG to PNG will not recover quality that was already lost when the original JPG was saved — JPG compression is lossy and irreversible. However, the resulting PNG will not lose any further quality, no matter how many times it is re-saved. Think of it as "freezing" the current quality level — from this point on, edits and saves won't degrade the image further.
This is expected. JPG uses lossy compression specifically designed to produce very small file sizes by discarding image data. PNG uses lossless compression which preserves all pixel data — so PNG files are typically 2–5× larger than an equivalent JPG. If file size is your priority, keep using JPG or consider converting to WebP which achieves smaller sizes while still being lossless.
Yes. In the Advanced options, enable "Add transparent background." This replaces the white or solid-colour background of the JPG with true PNG transparency. Note that simple background replacement works best on images with a clear, uniform background — complex backgrounds with fine details may require a dedicated background removal tool for clean results.
PNG compression is always lossless — every level produces identical pixel output. The difference is file size and encoding speed. Level 0 (None) is the fastest and produces the largest file. Level 3 (Low, our default) is a good balance. Level 6 (Medium) produces noticeably smaller files with moderate CPU usage. Level 9 (Max) squeezes every last byte but is significantly slower. For most uses, Level 3 or 6 is ideal.
Yes. All uploads are encrypted with TLS 1.3 in transit. Images are processed in isolated server containers and permanently deleted from our servers within 24 hours. We never view, store, or share your images under any circumstances.
